Every document completed through this platform is issued with a transaction reference. If you have been handed a document and want to confirm it, here is how.
How verification works

Locate the reference
Completed documents are delivered with a transaction reference (format ENP-XXXX-XXXX) on the receipt and completion record.

Contact us with the reference
Email or call with the reference number. We confirm whether a commissioning or notarization with that reference was completed, the date, and the type of act — without disclosing the document's contents.

Confirm the professional
Ontario lawyers and paralegals who act as commissioners or notaries can be independently confirmed through the Law Society of Ontario's public directory.
What we can and cannot confirm
- ✓ That a transaction with the reference was completed, and when
- ✓ The type of act performed (commissioning, notarization, certified copy)
- ✗ The contents of the document — we do not disclose these
- ✗ The truth of the document's contents — a commissioner confirms the oath, signature or copy, not the underlying facts

Confirm your commissioner or notary with the Law Society
Ontario has no private “notary registry” or rating site. The authoritative public record is the Law Society of Ontario's directory, which lists every licensed Ontario lawyer and paralegal and their standing. Before your session you are given your professional's full legal name and Law Society number, so you can confirm them directly at the source.

How to check a licensee
- 1. Open the LSO Directory.
- 2. Search the name or Law Society number you were given.
- 3. Confirm the licence class and that the status is in good standing.
