No. You swear or affirm and sign in front of the commissioner. Bring the affidavit completed but unsigned, with any exhibits ready to attach.

What identification do I need?▾
A current government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's licence or passport. The name on your ID should match the name on the affidavit.
How long does it take?▾
Most straightforward commissioning sessions take about ten minutes once your identity is verified.
