Effective date: [date]. This policy forms part of our Terms of Use.

  1. Before you pay. No charge is made until you confirm your booking and authorize payment. You may abandon a booking beforehand at no cost.
  2. Cancelling or rescheduling. You may cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before your appointment; we will refund any amount paid in full or move your booking to a new time at no extra charge.
  3. Within 24 hours of the appointment. [Choose one: a cancellation fee of $[__] applies and the balance is refunded / the service fee is non-refundable but one free reschedule is offered.]
  4. No-show. If you do not attend and did not cancel or reschedule in time, [choose: the service fee is non-refundable / a $[__] no-show fee applies and the balance is refunded].
  5. If we cannot complete the service. If the commissioner or notary determines that the Service cannot lawfully or properly be completed — for example, identity cannot be confirmed, the document is not eligible for the Service requested, or a legal requirement is not met — we will refund your payment in full. A commissioner or notary must decline in these circumstances; a refund here is not a reflection on you.
  6. Third-party verification fees. Identity-verification and similar third-party processing fees are charged to us the moment verification begins and are non-refundable once incurred, even if you later cancel or the Service cannot be completed — including where valid photo identification is not presented. Any remaining service fee is refunded according to the rules above.
  7. After the service is completed. Once the Service has been performed, its fee is earned and is not refundable, because the Service has been delivered.
  8. How refunds are issued. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method within [__] business days.
  9. Your statutory rights. Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or other applicable law, which prevail over anything inconsistent here.
