About this situation
An invitation letter supports a visitor visa applicant by confirming your invitation to visit. We commission the letter so your statement is sworn or affirmed before a commissioner.
When people use it
- Inviting family or friends to Canada
- Supporting a visitor visa application
- Confirming accommodation or hosting
- Where a consulate requests it
How it works
Start the invitation letter flow, tell us where you are and who the document is for, and we confirm whether it can be completed online or needs an in-person appointment — before you pay. IRCC sets its own requirements for supporting documents.
This page is general information, not legal advice. Acceptance of any document is always the receiving organization's decision. Prices shown exclude applicable tax unless stated.
