Transparent pricing: no surprises

A flat base fee per service, add-ons only when you need them, and tax shown before you pay. Here's how our pricing works — and what's quoted separately.

Nobody likes reaching the end of a checkout and finding a fee they didn't expect. Our pricing is built so that doesn't happen: you see the full, itemized price — including tax — before you pay, and the amount on the payment button is the amount you're charged. Here's how the pieces fit together.

One base fee per service

Every service has a flat base fee — not an hourly rate. The base fee includes the essentials for that service; for most commissioning services that means one seal or signature. The pricing page lists what's included with each one.

All of our fees come from one central fee schedule. Service pages, the fee calculator and checkout read the same numbers, so the price you see on one page won't be different at checkout.

Add-ons only when you need them

Some requests need more than the basics. Common add-ons include:

  • an additional document or an additional seal;
  • additional signers or witnesses beyond those included;
  • rush handling;
  • printed copies or courier delivery, where offered.

Each add-on appears as its own line in your order summary, with its quantity and amount, so you can see exactly what it costs. Where an in-person or mobile appointment carries a different fee from an online session, that's shown as its own line too.

Tax shown before you pay

Sales tax is calculated on the taxable items in your order at the rate for your province, and it appears as a separate line — HST in Ontario, for example. The order summary shows the subtotal, any discount, the tax and the total in Canadian dollars, and the payment button states the total you're about to pay.

Discounts are shown the same way

If you have a promo code or qualify for an eligible discount, it appears as its own line before tax is calculated, so you can see what it saved you. If a code doesn't apply to your service, the summary tells you instead of quietly dropping it. Approved business accounts have their volume pricing applied automatically, as a line of its own.

Your quote is locked in

When you reach checkout, your price is saved as a quote under the fee schedule in force at that moment. A quote normally holds for 24 hours. If our fees change after you've paid, your order keeps the version it was quoted under — a change to the price list never changes what you agreed to pay.

What's quoted separately

A few costs aren't ours to set, so we don't fold them into a "from" price. Government fees — for example for an apostille or authentication issued by a government office — and translators' fees are third-party costs. When your request involves them, they're quoted separately after intake.

A receipt for every payment

Every paid order gets a tax invoice and receipt, and every refund gets a matching credit note, so your records add up. Payments are processed by Stripe. You can pay by card, and with wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay where they're supported.

If a session can't go ahead

Sometimes a document turns out not to be eligible, or a session can't be completed. In those cases our refund and cancellation policy applies, and you'll be told why. The policy is public, so you can read it before you book.

Why we do it this way

Commissioning is usually one step in something bigger — a travel plan, an immigration file, a closing date. The last thing you need is uncertainty about cost. Showing every line before payment, holding the quote, and issuing a proper receipt keeps the one part we control simple.

Check your price now

The quickest way to see your exact total is to start: choose your document or service, answer a few questions, and the order summary shows the full price before you pay. No account is needed to see it. For an estimate first, use the fee calculator on our pricing page.
