The general rule
You typically provide two pieces of valid, unexpired identification, at least one being government-issued photo ID, and the name on your ID should match the name on your document.
Primary photo ID
A passport, Ontario driverβs licence, Ontario Photo Card or Canadian PR card are common primary IDs.
Secondary ID
A credit or bank card bearing your name, a citizenship or birth certificate, or (voluntarily) a health card can serve as secondary ID. Exact requirements are confirmed before your appointment.
General information only β not legal advice. Requirements depend on your document and the institution receiving it; we confirm what applies before you book.
